Job Description:
We are looking for an Optical Engineer with passion for new technology development to join our team at Meta Reality Lab Display & Optics organization. Our mission is to deliver state-of-the-art Waveguide Technologies for consumer near to eye displays. We are looking for a candidate with experience in novel optical device design and characterization either as part of their PhD or industry experience.
Job Responsibilities:
• Design, build, validate and operate novel optical metrology systems to support design validation activities.
• Collaborate with system integration and optical metrology groups for device integration and performance readout, process device characterization data and generate reports.
• Collaborate closely with technical leadership team, technical program managers and other research scientists and engineers to devise and execute on design validation of novel optical devices towards program priorities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• PhD degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, or other science and engineering fields with focus on photonic devices or optical systems. Or MS degree with 2+ years of experience.
• 3+ years of experience in diffractive optics, geometric optics, or optomechanics.
• 3+ years of experience with scientific programming languages such as LabView, MATLAB, Python, Mathematica, or similar.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• 3+ year of experience in optical metrology tools such as interferometry, image quality testing, and polarization test
• 2+ years of experience in electromagnetic modeling and analysis of nanoscale structures, holographic elements, optical thin film structures or anisotropic materials.
• 2+ years of experience in optical design tools such as VirtualLab, Code V, Zemax, Light Tools or FRED.
• 1+ years of experience in hardware prototyping (e.g., bench prototyping, basic electronics, and software system integration).
• 1+ years of experience in statistical data analysis,
This is the pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position $46.37/hour - $55.16/hour
