Job Description
Meta is seeking a panel of subject matter experts in a range of academic disciplines to join our Generative AI Language Research team as part of a Language Model Red Team effort. Generative AI is a research to production organization focused on making significant progress in AI and being a bridge between AI research and Meta Platforms products. Individuals in this role are expected to be experienced in data annotation.
The successful candidates will be responsible for interacting with our language model expressly to identify potential weaknesses and vulnerabilities in order to improve accuracy while increasing trust and safety of the model based on their respective disciplinary expertise. This work requires expertise in a particular domain, effective communication, and commitment to the project.

• Various academic and scientific disciplines (biology, chemistry, economics, math, philosophy, physics, political science, others)
Responsibilities:
• Execute plans to test the safety of our language model.
• Collaborate with the development team to design and execute probing dialogs, and provide feedback on the quality of the model and the probing methods
• Stay up-to-date on the latest techniques and tools to ensure the model remains secure.
Expert Contributions:
• With specialized knowledge, we seek expert raters that can:
• Provide insights into their domain of expertise via verbal input, prompt inputs and suggestions, and exchange with researchers and other subject matter experts.
• Provide expert commentary and feedback on synthesized outputs from generalist red teamers.
• Participate in a series of expert review panel meetings to provide holistic feedback to the development team on the trust and safety of our models.
Minimum Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree
• Strong English proficiency
• Excellent writing, communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain a high level of accuracy
• Experience with data annotation tools and techniques
Preferred Requirements:
• Advanced degree in one of the aforementioned stated areas of expertise
• Familiarity with large language models, such as ChatGPT or Google Bard
• Familiarity with red teaming.
This is the pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position: $53.01/hour - $73.39/hour
