DATA CENTER TECHNICIAN II
JOB SUMMARY:
Work with client teams to perform datacenter repair tech duties such as provisioning, repairs, decommissioning, moves, troubleshooting, shipping, and inventory management. Help ensure operational readiness of IT hardware by offering detailed, ongoing serviceability feedback.
Job Duties:
In-depth usage of command-line tools and techniques, both Linux and client-specific.
Hardware installation, rack and stack, cabling, provisioning and decommission.
Hardware diagnosis and/or repairs
Coordinate with internal DC teams: ENS, DRT, DCC, Power and space on dependent tasks, e.g. Network configuration on a rack that is needed for a new server
Task/ticket management
Device/System configuration
System troubleshooting with remote engineers
Document installation, repair procedures and rack layouts
Provide feedback for HW troubleshooting, testing and installation
Validate repair documentation for IT hardware and configurations.
Support on-site vendor visits by escorting and assistance with internal tools.
Asset/Inventory Management
Equipment support RMA
Assist in development of hardware requirements and specifications
Other tasks as required to support IT service on local basis
Work Schedule
· Monday to Friday during normal business hours.
· After hours on-call support as needed

EDUCATION REQUIRED: High School Diploma or GED
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 2-4 years experience with Linux system administration, network administration
Experience working in physical layer of data center operations (hardware)
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS REQUIRED:
Basic understanding of server hardware
Proficiency on the Linux command line with common UNIX tools
Proficiency on the Windows Operating System
2-4 years experience with Linux system administration, network administration
Driven, self-motivated work ethic
Eagerness to learn new technologies and adapt to constant change
Focused, detail oriented, able to manage and analyze technical data from multiple sources
Ability to dynamically switch between people-oriented and technically-oriented mindsets
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
SPECIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Able to safely lift and move a minimum of fifty (50) pounds
May travel between locations based on need (15 Miles)
