Job Description:
Network Engineer, Deployment & Support is responsible for deploying one of the world’s largest complex edge (CDN, Compute, IP) and Transport networks; for planning and implementing network upgrades\, migrations and net new deploymenrts.
Job Responsibilities:
• Support multiple stakeholder organizations by understanding, anticipating, and influencing business outcomes. Exhibit proactive communication and think with a product and customer mindset
• Drive problem management initiatives to solve complex issues that span multiple organizations. Initiatives exist globally across technical infrastructure reliability, policy, security, compliance, and business strategy.
• Help drive and align on workflow management tooling requirements - efficiency and automation roadmaps.
• Leverage a data driven approach to influence business and network health metrics.
• Manage key vendor relationships including contract negotiations, pricing, and evaluation of current and potential partnerships.
• Manage partner engineering team relationships to enable the team(s) to effectively meet business needs.
• Coach and develop other engineers and managers on the team.
• Ensures proper controls are implemented for financial budgets and prioritization assignment across teams.
• Help develop and maintain resource plan modeling across direct teams.
• Make independent decisions on issues/activities that have a critical impact or influence on Network operations and deployment.
• Provide input to the scaling and evolution of the team to meet the projected network demands.
Skills:
• 10+ years of experience in multiple technology disciplines with extensive experience in Network engineering, Vendor and Workflow Management.
• Experience with field-based work in third Party Network Collocation Facilities, Internet Exchanges, Data Center, Central Offices, etc.
• Technical knowledge of routers, switches, routing protocols, circuit troubleshooting, fiber-optic communications technology including CWDM and DWDM.
• Time management and program management skills: experience managing multiple projects simultaneously within a constrained time schedule.
• Network Operations and Deployment experience: knowledge of IP, Transport and CDN Networks Technologies and Service Management functions.
• Cross-functional leadership skills: experience in communicating risks and action plans to stakeholders and senior leadership.
• Interpersonal skills, including relationship building and collaboration within a diverse, cross-functional team of key stakeholder management and business leaders.
• Resourceful, action-orientated with the experience in getting things done and overcoming obstacles and developing creative solutions to problems.
• Experience applying a broad and comprehensive understanding of multiple network functional areas and their underlying business principles.
• Strong knowledge of computer software, such as configuration management software, desktop communications software, operating system software and internet directory services software.
Education/Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience..
This is the pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position $63.63/hour - $76.22/hour
