Reality Labs Research (RLR) brings together a world-class team of researchers, developers, and engineers to create the future of virtual and augmented reality, which together will become as universal and essential as smartphones and personal computers are today. We are developing all the technologies needed to enable breakthrough AR glasses and VR headsets, including optics and displays, computer vision, audio, graphics, brain-computer interfaces, haptic interaction, eye/hand/face/body tracking, perception science, and true telepresence.


Our organization is seeking an on-site Technical Project Manager with Agile Scrum experience to oversee and manage mature research projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading all phases of the project life cycle, from conception to completion. This is a full-time contract position that requires a highly motivated individual who can work collaboratively as well as independently.


An ideal candidate would have familiarity with some or all of the following areas of research and development:

- Audio signal processing

- Release planning and management

- Iterative software product development


Job Responsibilities

- Manage and oversee the entire project life cycle of mature research projects and ensure that they are delivered on-time, within scope, and within budget

- Facilitate Agile Scrum processes and ceremonies, such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives

- Coach team members on Agile Scrum methodology and track team progress against project milestones

- Work collaboratively with the research team and stakeholders to define project objectives, timelines, and scope

- Coordinate project approvals, including legal, privacy, and research ethics reviews

- Facilitate project meetings and manage project communication and documentation

- Conduct risk management and mitigation planning to ensure project success

- Develop and manage project budgets, resource allocation, and project schedules

- Monitor and report project progress to stakeholders

- Proactively identify and address potential project issues or roadblocks

- Ensure all project documentation is maintained and archived throughout the project life cycle

- Typically requires field work in overseeing projects

- Willingness to roll up your sleeves and take on operational tasks in support of the team's goals

- Collaborate with technical leaders to align project goals with organizational roadmaps


Skills

- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Technical Project Manager working in a fast-paced research and/or product development environment, preferably in scientific research, applied research, or similar field

- Experience working on cross-functional project teams utilizing Agile Scrum framework

- Familiarity with project management software, such as Jira

- Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate to all levels of the organization

- Must be proactive with ability to execute on multiple tasks simultaneously

- Ability to manage and prioritize competing deadlines, with strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills


Education

- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical/systems engineering, business, or a related field

- PMP certification and/or Agile Scrum certification preferred.


This is the pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position $42.35/hour - $74.79/hour
