Instagram has likewise been crucial to helping businesses get online during the pandemic and stay afloat during these difficult times.


Instagram is looking for a UX Researcher to help us better understand the business ecosystem. We want to help advertisers target the right people with the right products, and help consumers get the information they need when considering a purchase. For this position, we are looking for a researcher with broad skills and experience, especially in qualitative research methods and project management. The right candidate will be an excellent communicator, knowledgeable about user experience design and research, comfortable in a flat, fast-moving organization, and passionate about shopping. This position will be based in NYC but can be fully remote.


Job Responsibilities:

* Design research studies that address behavior, attitudes, and needs of consumers & businesses on Instagram

* Employ creative and innovative research methods to understand needs of businesses and consumers

* Generate insights that fuel ideation and evaluate designs

* Manage vendors to help augment the work of the research team

* Work cross-functionally with design, product management, content strategy, engineering and marketing

* Communicate results and illustrate suggestions in compelling and creative ways


Skills:

* Command of qualitative and user-centered research methods

* Familiarity with remote usability research

* Ability to identify, as well as answer, business decisions

* Experience collaborating with internal stakeholders including but not limited to Product Managers, Designers, Product Marketers, and Engineers


Top 3 must-have HARD skills:

1. Qualitative research expertise, including expertise in:

a. concept testing

b. usability testing

c. in-depth interviews

2. Experience translating research findings into actionable product recommendations for a team to execute on


Education/Experience:

* BA/BS degree in a human behavior related field (Human Computer Interaction, Psychology, Social Science, Information Science, etc.)* required

* MA/MS in a human behavior related field preferred

* 10+ years experience in applied product research preferred

* Previous experience in small business, e-commerce, retail, or B2B research preferred


This is the pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position: $80.91/hour $95.43/hour
