Software Engineer V

Job Description:

Our team is building state-of-the-art machine learning SW/HW infrastructure in Facebook. We are looking for a software engineer, working on tracking performance indicators and metrics for key benchmarks that matter to the company, distilling critical insights to help team members and cross-functional partners to improve performance across the stack.

Job Responsibilities

• Add new features and tests a python-based performance analysis tool.
• Work with team members and cross-functional partners to build and maintain benchmark tracking framework. Sometimes this may include some modifications to the software stack (compiler, runtime, kernels).
• Maintain and track benchmarks and metrics over time, automate and streamline the process along the way.
• Distill observed results and provide insights with team members.
• [Optional] analyze and reason about the results with hardware performance counters, provide feedback to the team with potential improvements.

Requirements:

• Relevant experience: 2+ yrs, total experience: 5+ yrs (not strict, grad school experience can count)
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, similar technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Fluency in programming with Python / C++
• Ability to work in a dynamic environment
• Performance expectation will include speed and quality of software delivered, and ability to communicate ideas and results clearly.

2 Experience with Pytorch FX IR

3 Experience with machine learning or HPC workloads

4 Experience in cross-group and cross-functional collaboration with excellent communication skills

This is the pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position $85.40/hour - $95.66/hour
