Our Meta Quest Presence Platform Movement SDK plays a pivotal role in enabling developers to create rich and engaging VR experiences. We are seeking a talented Technical Writer to join our team and help ensure that our SDK is well-documented, user-friendly, and accessible to developers worldwide.
As a Technical Writer for the Meta Quest Presence Platform Movement SDK, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining technical documentation to support our developer community. Your work will directly contribute to the success of our SDK and the VR experiences built on it.
**Key Responsibilities:**
1. **Documentation Development:** Create, update, and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including user guides, API references, and troubleshooting guides.
2. **Collaboration:** Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to gather information and ensure documentation accuracy and relevance.
3. **User-Centric Documentation:** Ensure that all documentation is user-centric, easy to understand, and well-organized, meeting the needs of both novice and experienced developers.
4. **Documentation Reviews:** Conduct regular reviews of existing documentation and proactively recommend improvements to enhance usability and completeness.
5. **Stay Current:** Stay up-to-date on industry best practices and emerging trends in technical writing and documentation to continuously improve our documentation standards.
**Deliverables:**
1. **User Guide:** Develop a comprehensive user guide for the Meta Quest Presence Platform Movement SDK, covering an overview of the platform, installation instructions, and how-to guides for common tasks.
2. **API Reference:** Create an extensive API reference for the SDK, including detailed descriptions of each API function, example code snippets, and usage guidelines.
3. **Troubleshooting Guide:** Produce a troubleshooting guide for common issues and their solutions, providing developers with the support they need to overcome challenges.
4. **Regular Updates:** Continuously update the existing documentation to reflect new features, changes, and improvements as they are released.
5. **User Feedback:** Solicit and gather feedback from users to assess the quality and usefulness of the documentation, incorporating feedback to enhance the documentation quality further.
**Qualifications:**
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Technical Communication, Computer Science, or a related discipline).
- Proven experience in technical writing, preferably in the software or technology industry.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Proficiency in using documentation tools and software.
- Familiarity with VR technology and software development is a plus.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to producing high-quality documentation.
- Experience with Unreal Engine and Unity game engines is a plus
This is the pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position $50.27/hour - $61.70/hour
